Visit Andalusia

Andalusia boasts one of the most pleasant climates in Europe with over 300 days of sunshine a year. The wonderful weather is naturally reflected in the warm and welcoming character of the Andalusians making it the perfect destination for your next holiday!

With Cádiz as the oldest western city, with 3000 years of history, the region was touched by the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths, Muslims and Christians. The capital, Seville, was founded on the shores of the Guadalquivir river and although the area has always been inhabited, it was Julius Caesar, when he founded the City of Hispalis, who converted the area into one of the most important commercial, economic and cultural regions of the Iberian Peninsula.

Andalusia is also known for its many traditions. The “Semana Santa” (Easter’s Holy week), for instance, is a week of pure emotion. The music of the bands, the silence as a brotherhood passes and the skill of the float bearers as they carry hundreds of religious icons in solemn procession throughout the city, create an indescribably wonderful setting for the re-enactment of the passion of the Christ. The many Ferias, on the other hand, are more noisy expressions of joyful social encounters and Spain’s proud heritage.
